Siobhan facts & figures

Van De Stadt design, type: "Pacific II" ketch,

Corten steel hull, built in South Africa in 1981

by Bill Cooper’s shipyards for Bill Cooper personally, named “Lily Rose” after Bill’s wife.

now Dutch registered nr: 6567 ZG 1999

Teak decks renewed in 1999-2000 and 2003.

 

length: 15.00m (49’) long

beam:    4.60m

draft:     2.50m

Full standard sail is 135m3, spinnaker adds 150m3(light) or 180m3(heavy).

Now all sails have been renewed by Kemp!

Main mast almost 20m tall (only inches shorter than the Värmdö/Djuurö bridge)

displacement 30+ tonnes, of which 6 tonnes lead ballast in the keel.

 

Anchor:

  50kg Bruce anchor with 130m chain,

  secundaries: 40kg CQR, 40kg Bruce with 10m chain + 100m 20mm warp

 

Main engine Perkins diesel M6354 110hp,

  Perkins generator 3600kVA, (also for the hot showers...)

  Duogen water/wind generator (so no generator charging needed on passages!)

  Aerogen 6 wind generator (for topping up at anchor)

 

Electrics: 24V main system

  Generator charger 2x25A Sterling digital independent systems.

  batteries: domestic: 350Ah (at 24V) ; engine:100Ah (24V) high CCA

  inverter: 300W pure sine for PC, various chargers, mixer,

  harnesses for all crew + stainless full length lifelines (and we use them!)

  One full set dive equipment incl 10mm wetsuit (no compressor)

  more tools and spares than you can shake a stick at

  swimming ladder at stern

 

 

She even had a movie role (though the stand-in was not as pretty as the real thing) thanks to one notorious former owner…
